Thomas J. Dygard was an American author and journalist. He wrote several novels for children, relating to sports. Dygard began his career writing sports for the Arkansas Gazette after earning his degree from the University of Arkansas. In 1954 he was offered a job with the Associated Press and went on to work in several of their bureaus, including Little Rock, Arkansas, Birmingham, Alabama, and New Orleans, Louisiana.
