Dreams do come true, so do nightmares!

This book was okay, but it has two subplots going on at the same time. If you read the book synopsis, you think that it is all about a woman who was fat and a little unattractive until she is in a horrible car accident and has to have extensive plastic surgery. Without any previous pictures of the woman, her husband uses one from her twin sister. After six months being in a coma, the woman awakes to find herself looking like an entirely different person and not trusting those she loves.

Meanwhile, there is a serial killer on the lose who has fixated on her. He kills blonde haired, blue eyed women by slowly draining their blood. The police chief Clair Drummond is on the case, but is coming up without any leads. This part of the book does not have an ending. You will read up until the last page expecting the reveal only to see that it concludes into the next book. After reading that one, you will also be left hanging. The killer's identity is not revealed until the last in the trilogy entitled "SHE'LL NEVER LIVE" You must read at least the first and the last to know who the killer is. It can be very frustrating if you are not willing to read the others.

The suspense in this book is not near as good as the last, however it isn't too bad for this author's first book. I just think that the theme was drug out too much. For a romantic suspense novel, I wouldn't say there is much in the romance part of it. I was however unable to purchase the second in the series and I am kind of glad. The first book frustrated me enough that I don't know that I could have gotten through a whole other book without knowing the killer.

I received a copy of this book from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.

While I enjoyed the premise of the book there were some glaring typos that drove me nuts. More than halfway through the book one typo was corrected. In case you're wondering the typo is the repeated reference to carbon dioxide detectors, instead of carbon monoxide detectors. This is a glaring typo for a few reasons. 1) Most of us are familiar with carbon monoxide detectors and how they work as well as why someone would want one. 2) Most of us are familiar with basic science principles and should know as adults that every time we exhale we exhale carbon dioxide. Thankfully, this was fixed in about chapter 12, 13, or 14.

There were some other science-based issues I had with the story, but that's more from my understanding of both science and anatomy & physiology. I'm sure the author could have done more research and had the story be more accurate. That said, I didn't hate the pipe dream presented.

The overall story was good, although I kept feeling like there were pieces missing. I'm hopeful that some of those missing pieces may be resolved in subsequent books in the series. There are definitely some things I enjoyed, and in fact one thing I plan to do myself when I publish my first book.
This was generally a well-written, interesting and suspenseful book, I particularly liked the main characters who were well-defined, fleshed-out and believable, although some of the minor characters were a bit sketchy and because of this their motives for some of their actions was unclear. The plot was clever and quite original with two parallel story lines, and I liked that the psychological effects of beauty and intelligence were explored. There were some silly errors in the text, confusing carbon monoxide with carbon dioxide for example. However I am afraid that it ended with one of my biggest bug-bears about books, a 'hanging' ending, so although there was 'happy for now' ending to this story, the murderer is not identified or caught and apparently the other 2 books in the trilogy need to be read to find out who it is, this is unforgivable to me, and based purely on that fact I am really glad that I didn't pay for it as I received a copy of this book from e-book discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review. I don't usually read book with serial killers in them. I was able to read this book since the author doesn't go into great detail about the killings. This book kept me captivated from the beginning until I finished it. It is told mainly from Marcy's point of view. Marcie awakens from a coma after 6 months and finds out that her view of the world and her family has shifted. Her twin sister, Phoebe, is still causing her issues and is now entrenched in her family home. In addition, Marcie is not sure of her relationship with her husband Jake. Marcie also feels eyes watching her. Another viewpoint in this book is Claire, the police chief of the town as she tries to solve the crime while also being the single parent of a teenage girl. This is a very good thriller. I plan to continue reading this series.
I really enjoyed this book. It had a 'happy-for-now' ending - by that I mean that Marcy and her family have a happy ending but the underlying serial killer mystery has yet to be worked out. An enthralling read though and it certainly leaves me desperate to read the the next and last 2 books in the series. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
This novel is a cutting edge thriller, were family members who kill to be each other now that the hurt of the past is showing we will know for real how everyone feels. In this book, we learn that beauty isn’t always everything in life. Are the accidents that are happening really accidents?” I received a copy of this book from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review."
A great who done it that leaves you wanting more! I loved the way Marcy evolved and became a new person. We've all been unhappy with ourself at one time or another and envied someone else so very easy to relate to this character. Story line moves along at a good pace and other than a few double use of lines, is well written. I would love for there to be a sequel!!
