Justin Scott does an excellent job with the characters and this second novel in the series is as good as the first. The plot is intricate and does not involve a lot of mayhem. It follows the first novel characters a bit but it is a new story and a new plot

Justin Scott does an excellent job with the characters and this second novel in the series is as good as the first. It follows the first novel characters a bit but it is a new story and a new plot. His politics get a tiny bit intrusive at points (he doesn't like Republicans) but, considering this is Connecticut, it is tolerable. An enjoyable murder mystery and well done character development.

The little town of Newbury, CT has a murder rate that is climbing with each Ben Abbott novel. Justin Scott does an excellent job with the characters and this second novel in the series is as good as the first. The plot is intricate and does not involve a lot of mayhem. It follows the first novel characters a bit but it is a new story and a new plot. His politics get a tiny bit intrusive at points (he doesn't like Republicans) but, considering this is Connecticut, it is tolerable. An enjoyable murder mystery and well done character development.

This was a gift but heard enjoyed it very much.

The first Ben Abbott book of the series. Worth reading as Scott introduces us to Ben Abbott and his trials and tribulations as he stumbles his way from realator to part time PI. Read them all...you'll like them. Plus...very reasonable on the ebook price! Ain't that nice for a change!

This was a very good choice for me. The book is interesting and fun. You will enjoy reading it. Justin Scott is a very talented writer.

I like to respond, but don't want to write anything except I like it. You make it so I don't like to reply.

When one reads any Ben Abbott mystery, another mystery is unlocked for much of the country. Justin Scott is a resident of Newtown, CT. He loves his town, and shows this as he speaks of the people and places of fictitious Newbury, CT, which is only a thinly disguised version of a town that, tragically, is much in the news now. This reviewer lived in Newtown from age 3-19. Each Ben Abbott mystery is like a trip home.

Suspense but not all hyped up. Makes for nice reading. Well written. I am looking forward to the next installment.
Scott is a fine writer, always a pleasure to read.
