Catch as Catch Can book. It is a story of suspense that has as the main characters, 2 cousins, Piers and Virginia, aged 14. They are spending the summer together in northern England. The story begins with them on a train from London to Lancashire. The trip is the first time they’ve traveled on their own. Full of excitement and a little mischief, they slip into the first class compartment and try to stay unnoticed. I have no recollection of my title. I can imagine now that I imagined then the title Did You Ever Fall in Love with a Girl Who Walked Around on Her Hands?) Where she walked on her hands and where the story went I have also mercifully forgotten.

story in which fourteen-year-old cousins, en route for a holiday in Lancashire, witness a man's suicidal leap from a train and as a result find themselves unpleasantly involved with a gang of dope smugglers. The situation is trite, the characters overdrawn-adults acting at times with incredible naiveté-and the dialogue abounds in clichés, however crisply delivered. There is a certain compelling quality about the writing and the mounting tension of the plot holds one's interest with a kind of mesmerized horro. .
