This is the third of the Julie O'Hara series, and the third that I have read. Julie and her husband, as special guests, are seated at the Captain's table, along with some other "special" guests. Mar 13, 2013 Trish Arrowsmith rated it really liked it.

This was a really good book that I finished in two days. Kept wanting to read "just one more chapter" and ended up only stopping to recharge the Kindle! I liked the main character - the body language insights were really interesting. Several mysteries interwoven into the plot made it a great read and kept my interest the entire time. I will be reading more in this series.

I loved all of Lee Hanson's books in the Julie O'Hara series, including this one. The writing is concise, yet very descriptive, and the editing is excellent. The new characters are interesting and the back stories of the characters as they are considered as suspects are delightfully complex. However, unlike the first two, Mystral Murder has a paranormal component to the usual investigation by Julie O'Hara and Joe Garrett. It has no real bearing on the mystery and could have been eliminated altogether without affecting the story. The supernatural aspect is really a little off-putting and it contradicts the personality of the victim while alive. The theory was also a little confusing. While it is an enjoyable read, it is not my favorite of the three. Nevertheless, I hope that there are more books in the series.

This is the third of the Julie O'Hara series, and the third that I have read. Julie has authored a book on body language and is taking a cruise, providing a talk on body language and her book. Julie and her husband, as special guests, are seated at the Captain's table, along with some other "special" guests. One of these guests ends up overboard and it is pretty clear that it wasn't by accident.

The other guests are to some extent pretty shallow, including the husband of the victim, giving him a perfect motive. But then, as Julie tries to figure out who the murderer is, it seems that many of those at the Captain's table, including the Captain himself, may have had a motive. The twists and turns come quickly as the mystery has to be solved before the ship docks.

I've enjoyed the first three, although Castle Cay was my favorite so far. I look forward to the fourth.

Quick read. Not a read in one sitting but still a pretty good mystery. Well developed likable characters. Julie O Hara is a spunky determined woman who doesn't give up. I enjoyed this book & would enjoy reading another book with her character in it. There is some minor cuss words in the first 3/4 of the book but toward the end there are several F words. I don't understand why a writer can write a good book without F words for most of the book then add them toward the end of the book. Do they think it's requirement to be able to sell it? I don't use that kind of language & really don't want to read them in the books I read for pleasure.

Although I've thoroughly enjoyed each of the Julie O'Hara Mysteries, this one was undoubtedly the best of the series. The plot was so well developed, that I literally couldn't stop reading it until it was finished (at 5:30 am!). I usually figure out the 'whodunnit', but not this time. I also appreciate the obvious amount of research that went into writing this story, as well as the honesty with which the characters are developed. If you're not already a Lee Hanson fan, you will be after reading "Mystral Murder". Can't wait for the next Julie O'Hara adventure!

This is a good story, and good side stories, but as far as a mystery goes it just did not keep my interest much. So if your looking to sink your teeth into a good mystery this is not the one, but if your wanting a good read then get this one, the story starts on a cruise ship, it has lots of details. I never really felt connected to the characters. There are too many side stories which leave the whodunit to explain those side stories, they are interesting but for a whodunit there was just too many and most had nothing to do with the murder.
I did read Lee Hanson's Castle Cay book also, and it was not as good as this one. But both books had trouble keeping my interest, and both were written in a way that left me never really connecting with the characters.

If you like a light read for your Kindle, Lee Hanson's Mystral Murder is the third one in the Julie O'Hara series. When Julie, a body language expert, and Joe, her significant, embark on the Mystral cruise, there's adventure and danger on the high seas from Florida to the Caribbean. When Adrienne Paradis goes overboard, everyone's a suspect in Julie's eyes... even Joe, who has an alcohol problem. There's drama, suspense, and a hint of humorous romances in here. When Julie catches on to the true suspect, it's up to her and Joe to stop her, before she's the next one drowning in the water. This has a little of something for everybody here, who enjoys a good cozy read.

It is a few days since I read this book, the third in Lee Hanson's Julie O'Hara murder mystery series, and I find myself wondering when the fourth will be out. This is such a terrific series. After each story, I have immediately downloaded the next. The main characters, Julie, a body language expert, and Joe, a private detective, have great chemistry together. They would be fun to know. The author does a nice job of character development and creates excellent twists and turns in the mystery so as to keep the reader engaged in the story. His books are truly enjoyable. I do hope there will be more in this series.
