Savannah has survived her wedding, and her visiting family, and is headed off with new husband, Dirk, to a nearby island for her honeymoon . Unfortunately, soon after arriving, they witness the murder of a local news reporter on the beach. Their first impressions of the local police force compel them to investigate on their own. Her team and family at their side, this is another amazing story from G.A.Mckevett.

I love cozy mysteries, and the Savannah Reid series is one of my favorites. Savannah is a real woman, with real curves, and mirrors my love of chocolate. Mckevett provides lots of laughs with the quirky Reid clan. Any author who is up to book 18 in a series must struggle to keep her characters fresh and compelling, but there is no evidence of that in this book. Savannah, Dirk, Granny Reid, and all the inhabitants of the series are still very entertaining. The mystery is well done, and the ending satisfying.

I have read all the books in the series, but I believe each can stand on it's own. If you want to start here, I think you will enjoy this book.

What can I say? I've been a sucker for Savannah Reid since I picked up her first book and laughed while reading the first page. The characters are like family, and picking up a new book is like a family reunion.

In "Killer Honeymoon", nothing stops the Moonlight Magnolia Detective Agency from finding a killer. Not even the honeymoon of their lead detective. Savannah has finally married her ex-partner, best friend, and now the love of her life. It only took them half their lives to open their hearts to each other. Now, nothing will stop them from enjoying their new life together. Not even being witnesses to a murder.

While on their romantic honeymoon get-away, Savannah sees a woman being chased by something or someone and, of course, her and Dirk go to investigate. Unfortunately, they are too late. They see the woman shot in the back while she is running away, and Savannah reaches her only to hold her as she takes her last breath.

When the small town police come to investigate, and they fail to do it by Savannah and Dirk's standards, they decide to find out what really happened to poor murdered woman. Unfortunately, stubborn Police Chief Charlotte La Cross is unwilling to help them, and in fact is hindering the investigation.

Using the rest of the team, Tammy (Savannah's cute, blonde, healthy, size 0 assistant), Waycross (her little -or should I say YOUNGER- brother), Ryan and John (ex FBI agents and life-long partners), and of course Granny Reid (the octogenarian grandmother who raised Savannah) the killer doesn't stand a chance at getting away with it.

They have several good leads, a not-so-good encounter with a bad guy, and no help from the local police. But, that doesn't stop them! They are at their best when working as a team.

This is the newest installment in a LONG LINE of Savannah Reid mysteries, and I'm happy to say that it doesn't disappoint!

Once again, GA McKevett has penned another winner to add to her repertoire.

If you were thinking Savannah and Dirk deserved a quiet and peaceful honeymoon after the debacle of their impending nuptials, you wouldn't be alone. However, that wasn't meant to be. The newlyweds just seem to find murder and mayhem wherever they go! And the best part is - we get to go along for the ride!!!!!

The whole Moonlight Magnolia Gang (and of course that includes Granny Reid) work to solve the mystery, and it's wonderful to have them all back. Filled with the fantastic characters we have come to know and love, snappy dialogue, intriguing mystery and the sweet romance between Ms Savannah and her 'old curmudgeon' , "Killer Honeymoon" is a fantastic addition to an already amazing series.

This series has become such a constant for me through the years. And they have grown with the reader, written by a master of words and heart. They touch the heart in ways few writers can do, and the stories and wonderful people stay with you. You remember them all. You embrace them as family. Each character in this family is worth loving, worth pulling for in some way. The amazing humor, laugh out LOUD humor is a gift to the soul. And the stories, they just don't leave you. I only wish the books were longer......... thank you for another moment of what I call happy reading!

I've read every book in this series, starting when it first came out. Savannah's relationship with Dirk has evolved from snarky and almost adversarial at times to a true love affair, and that's been fun. Later in the series, she began to introduce members of her family, some of whom are so annoying that I can't believe this tough ex-cop puts up with them. I prefer it when it's just Savannah and her "California family" solving crimes. This was a good story and it's a comfort sometimes to have "old friends" to read about rather than starting new series. I enjoyed it and look forward to more Savannah/Dirk books.

Once again Savannah and her friends and family have made me laugh and cry. G A McKevett has a way of allowing you into the story as if you are an unseen character watching the story is unfold. This book allows you as the reader to get comfortable with a glass of sweet tea, or glass of wine, or curl up in front of a fire, covered with your favorite throw. I recommend reading all the Savannah Reid Series books. Killer Honeymoon is exactly what you would expect knowing the characters. I'm glad we were able to enjoy the time on the honeymoon. Waiting Un-patiently for the next Savannah Reid book.

I'm reading it now on my Kindle and it is so neat to catch up with Savannah and Dirk on their very interesting honeymoon. G. A. McKevett does it again! The books in this series are always fresh, interesting and entertaining. I can hardly wait to find out who done it!

Of all the Savannah Reid books I've read this one was the absolute best. It is a definite must read. While I will not spoil the ending for you I will warn you to have a box of tissues nearby. Oh, not to worry they will be tears of joy!!!!
