The book retained my interest throughout and Michèle Abramoff writes very well in a conversational style. She's a perceptive observer of people and of other things too. It's true that, at the end of the book, we wonder what's going to happen next to the central surviving characters (André and Paule) but I think it's fine that M.A. stopped where she did; it's fiction, after all, and we can imagine for ourselves what might happen. I also don't think the ending is entirely bleak; André has decided to finally be honest and that's a step in the right direction. I like that M.A.'s books usually don't end with "and they all lived happily ever after." But if you want to read a good book with a happy ending, I suggest M.A.'s book "Coup de Chance."

Les personnages sont crédibles, intéressants, la lecture est agréable. Le suspense est faible, c'est un peu long, le dénouement est mou, on pourrait croire qu'il était temps que le récit se termine.

Tout de même c'est bien écrit et agréable et ça vaut largement l'achat.

Sorry, Michel, I know you get bored with your books, but so have I. NO MORE! MA has some good ideas and interesting characters, but then gets bored and squanders the lot to get finished. Sorry, I won't read any more.

Un roman policier qui se lit bien et facile, une enigme qui nous donne envie d'aller jusqu'au bout du livre. Malheureusement j'ai trouve le style un peu enfantin. Je ne connaissais pas Michele Abramoff, mais elle m'a donne envie de lire a nouveau un de ces romans. Je suis tentee par "Le cafe du Canal". Alors a la prochaine!

This book is well-written and an interesting read from front to back. The author clearly knows how to write a good book. The only problem is the ending. It's a bad ending and there's no other way to say it. By the time you get toward the end of the book, you're dying to see some of this mess get cleaned up. But it never does.

Easy to ready and very entertaining. Good for people that have a good to very good knowledge of the French language and want to read a book that is easy enough but challenges them at the same time. Liked that it was interesting to the very end. I will definitely get more books from this author.

Au commencement du livre vous savez que l'une des deux soeurs s'est disparue. Vous trouvez aussi assez vite que le chien de cette jeune femme est trouve dans le foret mort, tue probablement par les memes mauvais gens qui seront impliques dans son abduction. Ca vous intrigue mais on perd vite l'appetit de tourner les pages pour savoir plus sur des evenements qui doivent etre seulment des mauvaise nouvelles et vous n'aurez que de mauvaises nouvelles pour la reste du livre. Je ne sais pas pourquoi mais apres le mort du chien pour moi les pages se sont devenues plus et plus lourdes a tourner. La pauvre victime est artiste peintre, un libre espirit. La soeur qui cherche la piste si malheureuse, piste qui fini dans les nouvelles horribles, est moin interessant que la pauvre jeune victime assassinée et abandonnés. Ce n'est pas un livre a vous laisser avec un sourire.
