And how he divorced his 8 month pregnant wife to marry a super model. This book is an episodic romp through the 50 years of Patriot history. Like most sports-related books, I did not find it to be great writing, but Jim Donaldson imbues the reader with the desire to go back and watch some old footage, to recall the greats of the past, as well as the familiar highs and lows (thankfully, mostly highs) of the past decade.
There are so many "The Best Stories Ever Told" books about the New England Patriots and other NFL teams that it all starts to get jumbled together and it becomes difficult to distinguish between them, but this book stands out. While there is nothing really new in this volume, it is well. While there is nothing really new in this volume, it is well written, well organized and has a bit more than similar recent books on the New England Patriots. There are many good, short, player profiles of prominent Patriots players throughout the team's history and of course good stories on the biggest games, including all the Super Bowls.
