Look ahead exit by exit to see which motels (with 800 numbers), gas stations, restaurants, campgrounds, 24-hour pharmacies, radio stations or radar traps are there.

This husband and wife share stories: history on I-95, museums, trivia, towns to explore or places to run the kids. These can be read for entertainment during the drive, and may entice motorists to stop, stretch their legs and discover someplace new.

This is the second time we have purchased this book. We found it about 8 years ago on a trip to eastern Connecticut and didn't really use it until 2006 when we started travelling from NY to Florida for the winter. The older edition was very useful, listing all the gas stations, overnight accomodations (including chains so if you want to stay at particular chain you can see how far you have to go)and dining options at every exit from Connecticut to Georgia, stopping at the Florida border. The newer edition continues to Miami and is accordingly significantly more useful. Areas of heavy police activity are shown, the width of the road and speed limits are shown and there is generally plenty of useful information. There is an extensive description of special places such as museums, better inns and restaurants etc. along the way. In sum, this book is well worth its modest price for those who regularly drive this road.

Steep

I don't know how they did it and I don't really care. This couple managed to map out in easy to read sections the whole of interstate 95 up to the Florida/Georgia Border. This book was instrumental in my having a safe, anxiety-free drive from Northern New Jersey to Central Florida this Easter.

I'm not a great map reader, but this was the easiest thing ever. The sections are mapped out 30 miles at a time facing the direction you are driving. Everything from speed traps to restaurants to gas stations at every exit are pointed out, along with little antiquities along the way.

I left my house at 1:00 am, and was fighting an illness. It was instrumental that I knew where to find gas, bathrooms, restaurants, etc. This book eliminated that guest work. Looking at the book, I could plan bathroom breaks, diaper changes, gas stops, etc. We were able to avoid the "screaming baby in the car" syndrome that one hears so much about, since I was able to leave in the wee hours of the morning and still navigate where to stop.

The only negative is what's mentioned before, the book ends at the Georgia border. I really feel that the book should be advertised as only going to Georgia. But reading reviews here, I knew that already. Because we only have to go three hours into Florida and know where we're going, it wasn't that bad.

Altogether, this is so worth it.

This is my second edition of Drive I-95- I live in Miami and drive "home" to Boston every summer, and sometimes for Christmas. I cannot fathom making the trip without this book. Our family just returned from a 12 day vacation to Disney World, and we drove from Baltimore, MD. My wife had read reviews about this book weeks before we left and told me it was a necessity since we had a 16 hour journey ahead of us, so of course I ordered it.

The book was very easy to follow, and had everything mapped out perfectly. Every pit/gas/snack stop that we made, was based on the information found in this book. We even found some good restaurants to stop at because they were listed in the book. Without it, we probably would have stopped at a McDonalds or just picked up snacks at a gas station.

Highly recommended for anyone that needs to travel along I-95!

I would have gladly given 6 stars to this book but I have the same complaint as many others: where did Florida go? I purchased this book for a road trip from Baltimore to Miami and was highly disappointed that this book doesn't go all the way. The authors suggest that we buy the "companion book" about the FL freeways but if we only drive on I-95 why do we have to shell out another 20$+? This is not fair! I think Stan and Sandra should loose that "companion" and include FL in the next edition.

Otherwise this book is fantastic. It is very easy to use, informative, durable and simply fun. No more guessing whether to use the shady gas station restroom or wait till the next rest area. Information is power!

This was great accompaniment on our drive from Maryland to Florida. It's accurate and complete. The only reason for four stars rather than five is that the information that's presented is somewhat "crowded" in the areas where there are lots of restaurants, sights to see, and so on. The authors do their best to present the information simply, but maybe there's a better way.

This is an excellent guide to necessities and attractions along I-95, an otherwise bland and sometimes white-knuckling road. With any guide such as this, certain attractions, restaurants, etc., msy have changed or gone out of business since the last edition (the Georgia Pig barbecue joint near the Florida border, for example). Overall, though, this is a valuable travel companion.

Having driven up and down the I-95 corridor for twenty years, I didn't think there was any need for this book. A friend gave it to me and I've found it to be extremely interesting and useful. I've found off-the-beaten-path places to stay that I wouldn't have discovered on my own. Highly recommended, even for the experienced traveler.
