Hear No Evil is a 1993 American thriller film directed by Robert Greenwald, starring Marlee Matlin, D. B. Sweeney and Martin Sheen. It was released by 20th Century Fox on March 26, 1993. I enjoyed this book, Death in the Afternoon, Hear No Evil. I started reading it with my classmates and teacher. We read a chapter almost every night and learned more and more facts about the characters. This novel was about a teenage girl, Sara Howell who is deaf, and lives with her older brother Steve. Sara's mother wasn't mentioned in the novel, but her father was killed in a hit and run accident. Sara and her brother become suspicious for who killed their father.

Hear No Evil", as you might have guessed, isn't a good movie. In fairness to Matlin, she does give it all for this role, but this role - as well as the rest of the script - is not very well written. In the first part of the movie, we learn next to nothing about her character, so it's hard to sympathize with her character when the bad things start happening to her.
