Where Are My Children? By Cassie Kimbrough. Crêpe paper streamers were strung across the basketball court and children and adults milled around refreshment stands.

Where Are My Children? By Cassie Kimbrough. Quickly I scanned the crowd for Jane and Michael, but couldn't find them. Then a familiar movement on the far side of the court caught my eye: a little boy and girl hugged each other, and then the girl impatiently wiggled free. My fingers dug into the back of the old sofa I was sitting on. "My babies!" I said to no one. "My beautiful children!" How I ached to run down and touch their hands through the steel fence.

VAZGINO
Cassie’s ex-husband, Federico, kidnapped her two children and took them to Bolivia--his home country. He tried to poison the children against their mother. For a long time, she had no contact with them at all. She knew where they were, but complicated international laws prevented her from bringing them home.

Cassie explored different options for months. She ended up gathering thousands of dollars to hire a private investigator, and flew to Bolivia to kidnap the children back.

Cassie does a masterful recounting of the Latin American country she lived in: the living conditions, markets, and culture.

Even though Cassie’s ex-husband had broken laws to kidnap her children, the authorities held her to the letter of the law when she tried to recover them. The US Government did little to assist her, not wanting to offend the Bolivians.

Where Are My Children? is a fascinating page-turner. Live through the excitement, fear, and suspense that this woman experienced with her children. You’ll find your heart pounding! Well worth the reading time!

This book was very well written. It had excellent details but not so many one gets lost or bored in reading them, the reader can honestly feel the emotional upheaval this woman went thru having her children taken from her. The turmoil of collecting money to finance the 'kidnapping' the two children in a foreign country to bring them back to the United States where they belong. The conclusion was very well expressed, the strain, the fear of being caught, the fear of having to return the children, the courage of the men who helped in the planning and carrying out of the rescue, and we should give medals to the two children for being so cooperative during the long,,dusty, dirty, scary trip to get back to safety of their mother's arms. I hope more people will read this book and enjoy it as much as I did!!'

I really recommend this book. It is not PC to criticize other cultures in this day and age, but this is a harrowing story of a mother's quest to regain her children. Though it is not exactly the same as Betty Mahmoody, it still shows the sharp contrast between the US and Latin America.

I thought the book was well written and it keeps your interest. What I didn't like was that in the kindle version, they're no pictures. There's pages of pictures and you cant see them. They show as error.
Marilore
The story was well written. It kept your undivided attention the whole way through the book.

I was very impressed with this book and found it hard to put down from beginning to end. The author details an obviously traumatic period in her life with clarity and intelligence. I only regret the kindle version did not have pictures! Buy it, read it; you won't be disappointed.

Truly demonstrates what a mother is willing to sacrifice for the love of her children.
This book is compelling and will keep you on the edge of your seat. It is a page turner! You won't want to put it down! Plus, it is based on a true story. A story no mother would want to go through. It is definately worth reading!!
