The Kulayarāja Tantra (Tibetan phonetically: Kunjed Gyalpo, Tibetan: ཀུན་བྱེད་རྒྱལ་པོའི་རྒྱུད་, Wylie: Kun-byed Rgyal-po'i Rgyud; English translation: "All-Creating King".

The Kulayarāja Tantra (Tibetan phonetically: Kunjed Gyalpo, Tibetan: ཀུན་བྱེད་རྒྱལ་པོའི་རྒྱུད་, Wylie: Kun-byed Rgyal-po'i Rgyud; English translation: "All-Creating King") is a Buddhist Tantra extant in Tibetan which centers upon the direct teachings of the primordial, ultimate Buddha (Adibuddha), Samantabhadra. Samantabhadra is presented or personified in this tantric Buddhist text as bodhi-citta, the Awakened Mind, the "mind of perfect purity"

Unlike other Buddhist texts, the kun byed rgyal po'i mdo invites the reader to rejoice in this world as beautified and intelligible, and thus the innate purity of the intelligent potency, the motherly Buddha, will be experienced

What distinguishes this Buddhist text from so many others is the timelessness of its ideas. It constitutes a radical attempt toward deconstructing Buddhist philosophy, and presents a feminist perspective on Buddhist spirituality. The text holds that being is the center and depth of existence, and is therefore accessible in everyday experience. The fleeting existence (samsara) is in its depth being, i.e. a state of complete integration (nirvana) which may well be described as divine reality of a feminine dimensionThis book presents the first English translation of an eighth century Tibetan Buddhist text. Despite its centuries-old origin, the kun byed rgyal po'i mdo addresses themes of great concern to the present, including how to achieve a holistic world-view that integrates the peripheral nature of existence with the ground of being; and the interrelatedness of periphery and center, of individual and universe. From a contemporary viewpoint this can be seen to engender a feminist understanding of the ground of being. Unlike other Buddhist texts, the kun byed rgyal po'i mdo invites the reader to rejoice in this world as beautified and intelligible, and thus the innate purity of the intelligent potency, the motherly Buddha, will be experienced. In addition to the translation, the book also includes a discussion of the conceptual and historical contexts of the text, an examination of its leading ideas, and an assessment of the challenges related to the translation.

The history section of dzogchen would probably be difficult to follow if you don't have some previous foundation in Tibetan Buddist history, and would also probably be heavy going for those new to dzogchen. That said, I think it is also a "must have" profound text filled with to the point with pithy "essence" instructions for any experienced in dzogchen practice or serious student of same.

Excellent scholarly introduction to this book and history of the different Buddhist thought systems which led to this particular tantra. If you are going to read/study Longchenpa's "Treasury of Dharmadhatu" (Chöying Dzö), this is a frequently referenced work in his "A Treasure Trove of Scriptural Transmission" (Longchenpa's commentary to his "The Precious Treasury of the Basic Space of Phenomena).

Professor Dr. Eva Neumaier has done us a good turn by lovingly translating this Tibetan text so central to the study and practice of Dzogchen. Her ample introduction touches on such issues as this text's historical background, its possible relation to Chan Buddhism, Tibetan linguistic structure, classic Vedic concepts, and concerns for gender awareness. Although we only get a taste of these subjects, they are food for thought and further research. Her statement: "the enormous silence of the universe comforts us as a mother comforts her child" was worth mountains to me.

The text itself is beautiful and unique, and she treats it in a scholarly fashion with copious notes, references, and even a thematic analysis by chapter. And, the good news is that the paperback is back in print and available directly from SUNY Press for a modest price.
Exellent
This is an incredibly unique, incredibly important book on the true nature of Buddhism, and on the Buddha within us all. The book uncovers the true nature of the manifested self in this realm, and offers a totally new understanding on our interconnected divine natures. I don't know why the publisher has not uploaded a cover image, but don't let that stop you from buying and reading a copy. You will be incredibly glad you did.

just dont forget to breathe!

love, Tom x

heres at least 20 words to be said:-
just breathe, just live, just breathe, just live, just breathe, just live, just breathe, just live, just breathe, just live, relax, no worries, its all as it is, just so,

when you cant relax and its all difficult, thats just as it is, just so.

just living and all that it involves. God, Family, friends. no need for a path, no path necessary. youve always been a Buddha. praise the creator.

which brings us to the key question in mysticism... is all this ''being'' actually God. if it isnt then mysticism is pointless. if in truth ''we live and move and have our being''... ''in him'' (as saint paul says). then its time to study a little outside the norm. mind, buddhism, emptiness, consciousness, nothingness, nothing at all ness, this ness, that ness. all just attainments. hop them all and just live... just love God.

i need to say that Padmasambhava the great buddhist missionary to Thibet emphasised the importance of having a firm moral grounding and this is something the early christians also emphasised. the importance of behaving morally and responsibly; inspite of the fact that all is one. we can say that something is good, that something is bad. at root both are that, however there is a duality here and Padmasambhava said that it was dangerous to disregard apperances. the masters have said this.

the lord be magnified and thank God for Jesus my friend and guide, but especially for Yave his father without whom i could have learnt not a thing of any value.
