I have read, and re-read this book! Dr. Alan Nelson has opened my mind to the misunderstandings and assumptions I made about leadership and how to develop young leaders. Thanks to his research and insight, Dr. Nelson has clearly made a case for developing leaders when they are KIDS, not waiting till they are adults! This book will redefine what you think of leadership and cause you to re-think what effective leadership development really looks like. If you want to be on the cutting edge of developing leaders, this is the book for you!

There was a lot of information to process in this book, but I applaud Dr. Nelson for his initiative in providing programs promoting leadership.

A must read for parents, teachers, coaches, leaders and anyone who works with kids and youth. Today more than ever before, we are realizing a need for effective and ethical leadership. Until now this much needed training was only available to adults through executive and graduate level education. Dr. Nelson's research in the area of leadership development in preteens and youth is cutting edge. The design of the teaching methods and concepts in the LeadNow curricula far exceeds any leadership training program on the market today.

This landmark book, KidLead, Growing Great Leaders, offers insight to identifying our leaders of tomorrow. It provides practical advice for initiating positive methods and techniques to bring out the leadership ability in KidLeaders and helps us to identify those areas where we as adults may have missed the mark in helping our kids reach their full leadership potential. It provides ideas on how kids can begin leading now.

If we are going to change our world we have to start with our kids. If you want to help make a difference, begin by reading this book.

Not only will you recognize kids who are gifted for leadership but now you will have the tools to encourage and grow them into the leaders they are intended to be. I believe people want to make a difference, especially in the lives of children and the skills taught in this book will show you how. This book will be life changing for those kids who's parents, teachers or coaches are equipped with this knowledge. Today, more than any other time in history it is apparent that we need strong, ethical leadership. Wonder what people never reached their leadership potential because their leadership skills were never recognized and honed. Don't miss this opportunity!

I was so relieved to have happened upon this. I am a foster-adopt mom that has experienced first hand how easily the brightest of our youth can choose the wrong path. Leadership potential seems to be ignored when it is the "difficult" or "defiant" that has it. The book offers those dealing with the youth to catch them before it is too late and utilize the methods and the trainings to create more appropriate destinies. It is so exciting when you find something like this that teaches kids how important and crucial they can be at an age when they feel no one is paying attention. Alan Nelson has clearly paid attention and offers sound guidance for those of us with a passion for the youth of this world. Parents, teachers, counselors and anyone mentoring youth take a look at this and then take a look at your kids. See who can be a great leader.

Being a teacher I have never understood why more leadership techniques are not implemented in the classroom. There is no reason to wait until the kids are in high school to start "teaching" leadership. I am so excited that someone finally is suggesting targeting youth and leadership skills in the same sentence. It has always been said that leaders aren't molded until they are older...with this book we are now allowed to coach younger kids to become leaders at a younger age. I am impressed! I cannot wait for the future leaders and to see these skills coming from younger kids. If we empower our youth, we may actually have stronger leaders who are true leaders.

KidLead offers a foundation and incorporates amazing strategies to help develop leadership in our youth. It shows parents, church leaders, and teachers how to recognize those with leadership abilities and to encourage that development. Society tends to "squash" our young leaders by not giving enough value to their thoughts and ideas. KidLead will provide the tools to grow leaders and should be utilized by anyone who wants to make a difference in the lives of children.
This is an amazing book for all parents, educators and anyone working with kids. Raising a leader is a difficult job. This book brings to light ways that we can all help effectively develop the young leaders around us. The research makes sense and the suggestions of how to gently train through a LeadNow program are invaluable.

After reading the book you will be inspired to do your part to help develop the leaders of tomorrow today.
