There is much confusion about David Maple Jr, because there were many errors concerning the descendants of David Maple Sr in Telford Grant Maple's book, "Genealogical History of the Maple/Mapel Family in America". David Jr was present in Fayette County, Pennsylvania around 1791-1798, but he was in the Northwest Territory by 1799. The list of children that T. Grant Maple gave for David Maple Jr is incorrect - some in the list appear to actually be children of David's brother John.
