As with any genealogy book, you must verify, but with this book, the author's extensive documentation seldom fails.

CHILDS, James Rives was born on February 6, 1893 in Lynchburg, Virginia, United States. He attended the Virginia Military Institute from 1909 to 1911 and graduated from Randolph-Macon College in 1912. Childs obtained a master"s degree from Harvard University in 1915. After the war, Childs worked with the American Relief Administration in the Soviet Union. Childs joined the United States Foreign Service in 1923. He was the Chargé d"Affaires of Morocco from 1941 to 1945.
