Folding and unfolding problems have been implicit since Albrecht D?rer in the early 1500s, but have only recently been studied in the mathematical literature. Over the past decade, there has been a surge of interest in these problems, with applications ranging from robotics to protein folding.
It is exceptionally clear and readable.
His beautiful book, with its full color illustrations, gives some of the details, including proofs and open problems.
This course focuses on the algorithms for analyzing and designing geometric foldings. Erik Demaine and Martin Demaine. Applications to architecture, robotics, manufacturing, and biology are also covered in this course. Acknowledgments Thanks to videographers Martin Demaine and Jayson Lynch.
