Clinical Immunohematology book. Start by marking Clinical Immunohematology: Basic Concepts And Clinical Applications as Want to Read: Want to Read savin. ant to Read.

A clinical application focus relates concepts to practice and offers examples of using theoretical information in the laboratory setting. The book's six major sections build from the very basics of immunohematology (. Coverage of quality control assurance and regulatory issues includes the "whys" in both reagents and equipment. immune system development, antibodies and antigens, antibody-antigen reactions, et. to four chapters on conventional blood bank practice (reagents, genetic principles, major blood groups, pretransfusion testing, donor blood collection issues) to clinical considerations, and, finally, quality and safety issues.

This book begins with the scientific basis upon which clinical immunohaematology is based. As the book progresses, the applications of that knowledge to clinical problems is introduced

This book begins with the scientific basis upon which clinical immunohaematology is based. As the book progresses, the applications of that knowledge to clinical problems is introduced. The detection of the reaction between antigen and antibody on blood cells and the application of such knowledge to the problems of compatibitity of components of the blood in transfusion and in transplacental disease are covered. Finally the diseases due to aberrations of the immune system and in the interaction of the components of the immune system are addressed.

This first book to cover this new topic at the interface of cell biology, immunology and infection biology offers a unique insight as to how the innate and possibly the adaptive immune system are shaped by cellular mechanisms

This first book to cover this new topic at the interface of cell biology, immunology and infection biology offers a unique insight as to how the innate and possibly the adaptive immune system are shaped by cellular mechanisms. Following a comprehensive introduction to autophagy, the work features cellular mechanisms and medical implications, structured according to all major pathogens, while also covering emerging infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis.

This book fills a gap at the interface of fundamental and clinical immunology, and allergy.

The book presents a complete picture of natural defenses to infectious agents. This book has provided a wonderful and quick overview of the immunology that I needed to know for medical school. It is not a dense read at all, and I would highly recommend it for those who want a fuller appreciation for not only the scientific aspect of immunology but also the clinical aspect. Essentials of Clinical Immunology is aimed at clinical medical students and trainee doctors, although it will also appeal to career grade doctors seeking a refresher in clinical immunology. The book provides the reader with the core information required to understand diseases that have an immunological basis. This includes coverage of the underlying pathophysiology and signs and symptoms of disease, as well as the special investigations required and management of patients
