Joseph Jaworski pinpoints the astonishing encounters that manifested in his life when he followed his inner compass.

Joseph Jaworski pinpoints the astonishing encounters that manifested in his life when he followed his inner compass. Though Jaworski quotes frequently from Martin Buber and Joseph Campbell, many of his conclusions are very much in tune both with Eastern and Western spiritual traditions. Should be read by anyone suffering from the pain of leading with old paradigms; this books speak to the dynamics of leadership and offers hope. Where there appears synchronicity, meaningful "coincidences," there, too, is grace.

Synchronicity is an intensely personal and compelling book. As I reeled from Jaguars to mountain-tops to oil companies and a rare window on history, I was grateful that Joe Jaworski let us travel with him on ‘the inner path of leadership. – Frances Hesselbein, President and CEO, Leader to Leader Institute. From seemingly simple early chords, this book develops into a prophetic symphony by its conclusion. M. Scott Peck, author of The Road Less Traveled. Synchronicity is a book that anyone serious about leadership will have to read. Peter Senge, author of The Fifth Discipline.

In this book, Joseph Jaworski argues that understanding the interconnectedness of all things and pursuing a deep commitment within that understanding will enable you to consciously take advantage of synchronicity, creating the conditions for "predictable miracles.

My fin Joseph Jaworsky - Synchronicity, The Inner Path of Leadership Well, ehm, I just earlier tonight wrote about how I might sometimes come to read a book by a strange incident or the way I happen to come across it. My choice to read Synchronicity had a direct relation with one of the destinations on my trip to France, Chartres and its medival cathedral.

In this book, Joseph Jaworski argues that the right state of mind will make you the kind of person who can enlist the cooperation of fate and take advantage of synchronicity, creating the conditions for predictable miracles. If you are tired of being the victim of circumstances, this book will teach you to be the kind of person who creates your own circumstances. Praise for Synchronicity. A deeply personal and moving narrative that opens up new vistas on compassion, commitment, and connectedness – and hence on leadership. James MacGregor Burns, Pulitzer Prize–winning presidential biographer and Woodrow Wilson Professor of Government, Emeritus, Williams College.

Leadership is about the release of human possibilities, about learning how to shape the future. In this ground-breaking new work, Jaworski uses his own story to create an entirely new view of what leadership can be. When leaders are in a state of commitment and surrender, he says, they begin to experience what is called "synchronicity," or predictable miracles. By shifting from seeing a world made up of things to seeing a world primarily composed of relationships, leaders can enter a realm of endless possibilites. 2 cassettes.

There is a part of me that really likes Jaworski's Synchronicity. The part of me that believes in wizards, unicorns, and fairy tales really loved the book. It is a compelling story about a guy that made a lot of money being self-centered in his early life. In his later life, he turned his self-centeredness toward a more noble occupation of leadership development. A real hero's quest. In fact, Jaworski isn't shy about calling himself the hero.

There is also a part of me that hates the book. It is so hypocritical -- it is easy to preach "don't work for the money" when you've lived a very privileged life and have stacks of money in the bank. It is easy to preach the need for a "wilderness retreat" when you have a privately-owned retreat complete with a cabin in Colorado. It is easy to preach about integrity to your life purpose, but apparently hard for Jaworski not to cheat on his first wife.

When both the good and bad aspects are summed up, I think this could be an important book. Certainly, the message is a good message, and Jaworski does a pretty good job of delivering the message. However, I don't think I can buy off on the idea that Jaworski is the divinely-inspired prophet that he makes himself out to be. In the final analysis, the book was thought provoking and an enjoyable read.

Not 100% clear about the thesis of the book. It's more of an autobiography and a description of events than anything else. If you want to learn about Joe, then it's all here. Written well and not boring. After reading it I'm taking a second look into qigong.

This is such a great book, even though it's old. The message is timely, and relevant to today. It needs to be read and discussed in 8th grade, 12th grade, 1st year college, senior grade college, freshman graduate school, completion of graduate school and early career launch and mid-career burnout.

Deep questions and original storytelling. Makes you think a LOT about your approach to life and what is important central
I could subtitle this book "a hero's journey for the 1%". It's an interesting read on how the author reacted to a lot of the challenges of his life. That said, was hard for me to be enthusiastic about how he got there, because this is obviously a person born into privilege, who can have immediate access to important people whenever he wants. I was laughing out loud when he wrote about how he "ran into" Frank Tarkington, who immediately shared personal details with him. This book is full of anecdotes like this - the average person doesn't just "run into" the rich and famous, and engage in intimate conversation with them.
