The London Scene book. I feel very connected to Virginia Woolf, more through this book than through anything theoretical or intellectual she wrote - I guess because it now feels like we really could just hang out and think the same things about playgrounds on graveyards. Its an amazing book by Virginia and even me , who has not travelled any time out of my city gets a big time pleasure reading it out. I read it 10 years back , the copy was of a library , then found it back on amazon ; kindle edition was cost effective and did the work :)
Virginia's style of writing in this book is surprisingly witty at many instances unlike say in Orlando. Also , her acute observations make you feel that you are actually there with her all the time , may be at Oxford street or st paul
