Jamie McKendrick is a British poet and translator, born in Liverpool, 27 October 1955. McKendrick has translated six books of fiction by the Italian novelist Giorgio Bassani, including The Garden of the Finzi-Continis, published as individual volumes by Penguin in the United Kingdom. McKendrick is the third translator to tackle Bassani. Sky Nails: Poems 1979-1997 (Faber and Faber, 2000). Ink Stone (Faber and Faber, 2003).
