I discovered Robert William Chambers with The King in Yellow, and have since begun working my way through his entire catalog. His prose is rich, brilliantly illustrative, and creates a near photographic sense of place and time. He is a great story-teller; modulating suspense, romance, mystery, and action into a finely wound yarn. I enjoyed this title best of his works so far, but would recommend any thing with his name on it.

I think so. Interesting how the main characters were identified in the beginning. I was a little confused. But, after reading the story, I went back and appreciated the interesting beginning. The story had me totally engrossed. It was hard to put down. Filled with nail biting action and a plot really well played out. Considering it's a story from the early 1900, it's really impressive.
