I was drawn to this book initially because not only did I live in Marin County back in the 1980's (the very time and place the novel was written and is set) but I also actually worked behind the bar at the Shakey's Pizza in Terra Linda that provides one of the main settings for this novel. So it's a good bet that author Louis B. Jones was one of my customers at some point! The great thing about this - and Jones' follow-up, "Particles And Luck" - is that it rings true to life
