This book had promise and started out well. I liked the main character, Jesse, a doctor who was instrumental in designing a robot that could perform surgery that would otherwise cause significant deficits, such as operating on brain tumors which are in a difficult to reach place. The robot is still experimental When a terrorist with such a condition holds the entire hospital hostage, Jesse is forced to try her skill. I wound up stopping the book early as it just got too unbelievable. Others liked it -- I got bored.

I really enjoyed this author. Like all of the books I read from this author I couldn’t put it down. You never knew who the bad guys were until three quarters of the way through the novel. Fast paced and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone!

I live medical thrillers... Robin Cook and Michael Palmer are two of my favorite medical thriller authors. Michael Palmer did not disappoint with this book, it was very good and kept moving. It did end rather abruptly... maybe a sequel is coming :o)

It has great characters, an excellent plot, and is fast-paced. He has some interesting twists, and the plot is, for the most part, very believable. The only two parts that, for me, stretch belief was the final surgery, with all of its distractions, and the wide range and effective use of skills displayed by the protagonist. Technical readers and Michael Crichton fans will love this one!

This is the best thriller that Dr. Palmer has written to date. Claude Malloche is a feared, international assassin. Dr. Jessie Copeland is a young neurosurgeon and mechanical engineer. They should never meet, but Malloche has an inoperable brain tumor, and Jessie has developed an experimental robot to remove such tumors. When Jessie's headline-grabbing department head uses her robot in a high-profile case, the publicity gets Malloche's attention, and her fate is sealed. Or is it? Although she's caught in Malloche's deadly web, she has her wits and help from a CIA agent tracking Malloche. But the assassin and his crew are clever and ruthless. The intensity continues right to the story's end. This is a genuine thriller.

It's a spellbinder. Palmer is z terrific author as well as a real life physician. What a combination. This book combines the two and we the readers get to enjoy a fast moving story that keeps you guessing til the very end.
As are just about all of Palmer's books, this one is a real page turner. Exciting, graphic, interesting human characters, constant plot twists-difficult to put down. As a nurse I understand the medical problems and terminology, but the author describes everything so a layman can understand. He blends current technology with science fiction seamlessly. Love his books! Highly recommend it if you like medical thrillers.
