THE BERNARD SHAW LIBRARY PLAYS PLEASANT BERNARD SHAW was born in Dublin in 1856. Although essentially shy, he created the persona of G. B. the showman, satirist, controversialist, critic, pundit, wit, intellectual buffoon and dramatist. Indeed Mrs Shaw had moved to London four years earlier with her eccentric music teacher. Here, is the worst of all exiles – exile within the mother tongue – the young GBS embarked on a thankless sequence of novels.

George Bernard Shaw demanded truth and despised convention. He punctured hollow pretensions and smug prudishness-coating his criticism with ingenious and irreverent wit. In Mrs. Warren’s Profession, Arms and the Man, Candida, and Man and Superman, the great playwright satirizes society, military heroism, marriage, and the pursuit of man by woman. From a social, literary, and theatrical standpoint, these four plays are among the foremost dramas of the age-as intellectually stimulating as they are thoroughly enjoyable. Warren’s Profession.

Minnai
I ordered this book and started reading and realized that this book is misprinted like crazy. Act 3 scene 2 of Beyond the Horizon is in Emperor Jones and then the play Emperor Jones itself is missing pages. I haven't checked the rest of the book but these were obvious and troublesome for me
Windbearer
Early works that show it. Rough and difficult to read, a few great lines, but overall not worth the effort.
Quemal
The copy that I got was a little messed up, a few of the pages were out of order... I thought the play Beyond the Horizon ended on pg. 104 because the next play started, but in fact it skipped to pgs. 112-116, then back pgs. 105-108 (the final scene in Beyond the Horizon). I'm not sure if other pages are out of order or not.

A great addition to my fine book collection and a well deserved attribute to Eugene O'Neill as America's greatest dramatist.
