The Sound of Murder book. A well devised murder with a fully dastardly villain, 'Murder' is reasonably well paced with an inventive third-act twist. The 'heroes' are rather stereotypical and not nearly as interesting as they ought to be. In some respects (the prescriptive sets and stage directions, the slavish naturalism, et. it represents the dullest kind of made-for-tv theatre. Murder' is well executed for what it is. I would forgive it a great deal more if it had made a single Von Trapp joke.
by William Fairchild. A writer of children's stories is popular in his field by not at home, where he is a calculating sadist. His wife turns to another man for affection, and eventually the two of them devise a fool-proof plan to do away with the husband. Unfortunately, however, the writer's frustrated secretary learns of it and uses her information to trap the other man into marriage after he has killed the husband.
A stage play having the same title, written by Cornish screenwriter William Fairchild (STAR!) is the basis for this film. The play has been produced frequently both in England and within the United States, with a broad range of critical opinion a result. This picture is similar to a performance given upon the boards, shot using videotape, and having but one single room set, while showcasing a small cast of six players. Not smoothly constructed, it is nonetheless generally engrossing, and at times amusing, despite its lack of a limit placed upon effects from the intervention of chance.

Brown’s books are well-designed cotton candy, page turners sprinkled with genuine character-based humor and delightfully bad jokes.
