Listen to unlimited audiobooks on the web, iPad, iPhone and Android. the book was not really my cup of tea. This is the second book in a trilogy, and I must say that because I hadn't read the first book it took me a while to realize what was going on. I give Quinn by Iris Johansen an A! ameise1Go to ameise1's profile. Well, during the reading it was very easy to dip into the plot. Also I've never read a book by Johansen I was getting very quick familiar with the characters. Mostly it was gripping and I liked the different views to solve the case.

by Iris Johansen (Author), Van Dyck, Jennifer (Narrator) I have read many, many books by Iris Johansen and this one ties it all together.

As a former Navy SEAL turned cop, Joe Quinn has seen the face of evil and knows just how deadly it can be. When he first met Eve Duncan, he never expected to fall in love with a woman whose life would be defined by her dual desires to bring home her missing daughter and discover the truth behind her disappearance - no matter how devastating. With the help of CIA agent Catherine Ling, they make a shocking discovery that sheds new light on young Bonnie's abduction and puts Quinn squarely in the crosshairs of danger. Eve's first love, John Gallo, a soldier supposedly killed in the line of duty, is very much alive - and very much a threat. Emotionally charged, with one shock after another, Quinn reveals the electricity of Joe and Eve's first connection, and how they fell in love in the midst of haunting tragedy. As their search takes them deeper and deeper into a web of murder and madness, Joe and Eve must confront their most primal fears...and test their resolve to uncover the ultimate bone-chilling truth.

Fearlessrunner
Iris Johansen and her publishers should be ashamed of themselves and give us back our money! For those of us who have read all the Eve Duncan books, "Quinn" was just filler to keep us buying books and spending money. The first half of the book offered us nothing new, especially if you are a follower of the series. I felt the rest of the book belonged to Catherine and John Gallo and offered us virtually nothing new about what happened to Bonnie. You know what I think? I don't think the author knows what happened to Bonnie and she keeps writing books until she figures it out!!!

I still love the Eve/Joe relationship but think it should have progressed to marriage by now. Eve has really cheated Joe out of a full relationship due to her obsession with Bonnie. No wonder Joe has been getting impatient and resentful. I don't blame him. And the Jane character -- I just have never been interested in her and she just makes a cameo appearance here.

I think the author may be planning to phase out Eve and Joe and have Catherine as her main character. But don't tell me that we are going to learn more about Bonnie and then give me a love story between Catherine and John. I feel ripped off and am not quite sure whether I will read "Bonnie" when it comes out in October.

Iris - get a grip and give your loyal fans the real story of what happened to Bonnie, let Eve and Joe get married and have a bsby and ride off ito the sunset and I swear I will never read you again. You owe us!!

I did actually enjoy this book more than many of the other reviewers, mainly because I have become a big fan of Catherine Ling.

SPOILERS

I actually enjoyed the Catherine/John Gallo scenes very much, and I like their growing attraction to each other. As I feel that each of them needs the other, and they are two halves of a whole, I hope he can convince the others of his innocence and the real killer can finally be found.

I did enjoy seeing how Joe & Eve met and how the relationship grew into love. She seemed much older and more mature than someone her age should have been, even a young mother who had to grow up. I am getting very tired of her obsession with Bonnie, however, and I can't wait until that storyline is finished. I do wonder if Joe wanted a child of his own and if she denied him that because she only had room in her heart for Bonnie and Jane.

There is a supernatural element here, which is Bonnie's appearance to her father while he was in the Korean prison camp. If she wasn't dead then, and he didn't even know about her (so he couldn't be imagining her), perhaps Bonnie really was special although not in the way Eve thought she was. How does she manage to appear to Eve, Joe, and John? It had crossed my mind that, as both Elizabeth Smart & Jaycee Dugard are in the public eye at present, Bonnie might somehow end up alive. If that's the case, though, you would think she would grow up in the visions. That's probably not the case, although it would make for a good ending.

I was really looking forward to this book, because of the previous book "Eve". Sadly to say this book was a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. I wish I had borrowed the book from the library & not wasted my money. This gave no new insight into Joe Quinn or who killed Bonnie. I feel as if I was tricked. The book centered more on 2 other characters giving the impression that the Eve Duncan series is getting fazed out to bring on these 2 new people. If I was expecting this I would have liked getting to know them, but since I was expecting and wanting to know more about Joe, I was sad. I gave this book 3 stars because I love the Eve Duncan series & did enjoy the 2 characters featured in the second half of the book. The first half of the book was retelling how Joe & Eve got together. Recommend borrowing from library or someone else that was like me and fooled into buying this in hopes of new information. I only hope the 3rd book "Bonnie" lives up to the hype and actually does what it say--explains what happened to Bonnie!!! Finding this out would not have to be the end of Eve Duncan.

This is the second book in a 3 book trilogy. The first being EVE, the second is QUINN, and the third is Bonnie. While each book is a story by itself. I have now read the second. QUINN is a great book. Eve Duncan is looking for her daughter Bonnie, Quinn is the cop that will help her find her. Bonnie has been gone for 12 years and Eve wants to find her body and bring her killer to justice. After reading the first book EVE, I had to find out what happened to Bonnie. The book takes many twists and turns. It was a great book and I am looking forward to finishing the last book and finally finding out what happened to Bonnie.

When I started reading, I expected to get more information about the history of Joe and Eve. I usually think of Joe as very strong and manly with a soft spot for Eve, and quite frankly, I didn't like Joe in this book. It seemed very much a "I lusted after Eve from the moment I met her, but knew it would be inappropriate to demand the sex I wanted, so I decided to wait until she was ready." Rather than the love story that I have imagined for Joe and Eve over the years of reading this series.

I thought the flashbacks in Joe's memory were quite boring and covered much of the same ground the author has covered in other books. The storyline only got interesting when Catherine started hunting John Gallo. I think the book is intended to explore the idea of a new series with Catherine and John as the protagonists since the Eve and Joe storyline is coming to a close. Regarding the Eve storyline, I thought the book offered us little information and is merely filler between Eve and Bonnie (Eve Duncan). If you want to have a 'complete collection' then purchase the book, but I would have been satisfied with borrowing this one from the library or from a friend.
