Also, a big Aborigine friend of mine was in Broome and he bumped into the Warumpi Band. They liked their music getting a mention in my books and sent me one signed by every member of the band. I was absolutely rapt. I have to admit, you couldn’t find a more stupid name for a book than The Case of the Talking Pie Crust. But once you’ve read the book you’ll see that it makes sense.

He climbed out of bed, stretched out a couple of yawns, then went to the bathroom. There was no missing his fat lip and the mouse under his right eye.

He climbed out of bed, stretched out a couple of yawns, then went to the bathroom nothing. After finishing in the bathroom, Les went to the kitchen and put the jug on, then without bothering to get changed, climbed into his trainers and walked down to get the papers. Back in the kitchen, Les made a pot of tea and decided what he’d have for breakfast. When everything was ready, he sat down relaxed and opened the Telegraph

This is a great read. Plenty of laughs with an interesting story about a tuff knock about bloke located in Sydney, Australia who cant keep himself out of trouble for all the wrong reasons but always ends up in-front.

Les Norton is back, wearing tena??hole Doc Martens...Les is quite happy resting up after the flu, when Warren has to tip him into an earn. Norton's mate from the Albanian Mafia, Bodene Menjou, is planning to make the most politically correct movie ever made in Australia, Gone With the Willy Willy, and has a script stolen. If Les can find it, a lazy $50,000 could fall in. How can Norton say no? After almost getting his head blown off in a drug lab, being attacked by crazed women with broomsticks, and beaten up by monstrous drag queens, Les is wondering if it is all worth it. The trip to Terrigal and the magical Mystery tour with Marla is good. And Topaz with her chicken soup is an unexpected delight. But apart from that, Les doesn't find much joy at all in his search for the missing film script. Especially not trapped in a fight for his life with a sadistic giant, where only one thing can save him: the Mongolian Death Lock. Set in Bondi and Terrigal, Robert G. Barrett's latest Les Norton adventure, The Case of the Talking Pie Crust, is vintage Les Norton doing exactly what he does best: his worst.

Les is feeling tired....Mr Barrett created a likeable boof head and initially had a barn storming read...sadly this offering tends to creep from scenario to scenario. The humour is contrived.

agggh. as a disappointed reader of all the Les Norton books, I have to say the long slide that began with the Godson is nearly complete . . . only so many ways to describe sex, drugs, & violence in a humorous way, even in the Ocker Patois. Just feels tired and predictable now. Sad.

Robert Barrett gives Les a heart - a HUGE one! As always, larger than life. A laugh a minute...we already miss you terribly, RGB.

I said in a previous review that I will always rate his books a 5. That's only because there is no 10!
