The illustrations are full of charming, funny details; the Italian-speaking cat has us all wandering around the house saying "non c'e di che" ("don't mention it"): and I particularly like the Wind who, after creating mild havoc with a tempest, says "You do these things in a moment of madness, and then you're left with the mess. I've probably bought 300-400 children's books in the past few years, and this is definitely one of the best. 8 people found this helpful.

I came across this book at a friend's house, whose two year old son loves it (more for the illustrations I think than the story, though he was glued to every word), but I'm sure that it would capture the interest of children much older too.

He gets kind of sloppy so he hangs all his finery out on the line (he doesn’t know you have to wash them first). A great wind comes up and blows the king’s stuff across from the island of Capri to the city of Naples.
