Great book for any Fugitive fan. Loved the stories about the series (especially from Barry Morse). The Fugitive Recaptured: The 30th Anniversary Companion to a Television Classic. red-An./0938817345.

The Alfred Hitchcock Presents Companion, a 600+ page book from 2001 that thoroughly covers both AHP and The Alfred Hitchcock Hour. I've also owned some books that weren't about one specific show, including Alex McNeil's Total Television (80s version, which was huge and had a yellow cover). Also, awhile back I got a book (on Kindle) from 2013 called Funny You Should Ask: Oral Histories of Classic Sitcom Storytellers, which has a lot of great stories.

David Janssen was so memorable as fugitive Dr. Richard Kimble that although he was a terrific actor, nothing else could compare to this mysterious unique role. This large paperback has some interesting facts about the filming of each episode, but a lot of the stories are about how they were filmed, directed, written etc. and not enough about his interaction with the many stellar costars (Telly Savalas, Suzanne Pleshette, Tuesday Weld etc. are mentioned in cast credits but not expanded on) to satisfy this trivia fan. I did however enjoy the many B&W photos of Janssen with his costars and even a great family photo of him as a handsome young man next to his baby sister and absolutely beautiful mother Berniece. There is even a Fugitive comic strip at the back of the book, so these things make the book worth having for a fan of this great show and David Janssen.

For fans of the great TV series "The Fugitive," this is an outstanding book. It is very thorough, interesting and entertaining. It is well-organized and written well. Some of its many excellent features include a though discussion of the origin of the series, and episode by episode descriptions of the 120 episodes over the 4 years. It discusses the personality and acting style and strengths of David Jannsen as well as presenting comments by various actors, producers, directors and writers who worked on the show. The beauty of the book is that you can read as much or as little as you are interested in, w/o losing the thread of any discussion. I watched nearly every episode of the show when it first aired, and it was my favorite TV show of the 60s.

As I watch reruns of The Fugitive, reading this book helps me to relive many of my memories of this great show. The only (minor) negative is that the index could have been more detailed, e.g., could have included more of the actors who appeared in the episodes.

This book is great fun and a wealth of knowledge. It contains some little known facts and information along with many interesting artifacts. Ed Robertson has done a fantastic job of research in order to write this thorough text. I especially like that he deals with each and every episode listing actors and their parts, directors, the narrator's voice over, a brief summary, and the final words of each epilog.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves The Fugitive and/or is considering purchasing the complete series (You can't go wrong if you do.). Robertson includes detailed and fascinating background information regarding how the series got started and the hurtles it had to jump to do so. He has also provided comments from many of the actors and actresses who were in some of the episodes. Included is the original Mad Magazine parody of the series and many other interesting pieces of information.

This book is a quality piece of publication. Capture it if you can.

This book is an invaluable resource to accompany the series or as a stand-alone work. You won't be sorry if you purchase this book.

THE FUGITIVE - RECAPTURED by ED ROBERTSON is an outstanding book, solid research and excellent writing by ED ROBERTSON.

THE FUGITIVE, created by ROY HUGGINS, Produced by QUINN MARTIN, starring DAVID JANSSEN as "Dr. Richard Kimble" and BARRY MORSE as Lt. Philip Gerard had been turned down by CBS abd NBC as "not a good fit" for Television. Against the advice of senior executives, LEONARD GOLDENSON, CEO of the troubled ABC Television Corp. took a chance.

THE FUGITIVE was an instant hit in Prime Time television, airing from September of 1963 to the record-setting, two hours cliamx, "THE JUDGEMENT", airing on August 29, 1967.

Thirty-one years after his death, DAVID JANSSEN remains in the minds and hearts of millions of his fans as "THE FUGITIVE". Mr. Robertson pays tribute not only to David Janssen and Barry Morse, but to every Writer, Director and a host of Guest Stars who made "THE FUGITIVE" a show enjoyed not only by the fans of the original production, but generations who became fans in the world-wide re-runs and syndication. David Janssen himself often attributed the show's success to his fellow actors, Writers, Directors and every member of the crew who worked tirelessly to make every episode the best of its' time.

THE FUGITIVE-RECAPTURED, is a look back on the thirtieth anniversary of the award winning, ground-breaking and record setting production. This is a book I would highly recommend to every fan of DAVID JANSSEN's and "THE FUGITIVE".

I love this book. It has lots of interviews with people who worked on the show and reminiscences of crew and cast members. No gossipy nonsense, either. Great to read about how much people liked David Janssen and how fun-loving he was. Lots of comments by Barry Morse who was an amazing actor and an interesting and intelligent gentleman as well. Also has some great photos. I recommend it for anyone who loves The Fugitive. The author did a great job.

Lots of interesting (and not so interesting) facts about The Fugitive. Not the greatest book, but if you're a big fan of the series, I think you'll enjoy it.

David Janssen's series, The Fugitive, was always one of my favorite shows. This book gives an episode by episode synopsis. Sometimes, when you watch a show, you miss some of the plot twists or dialog; this book will fill in those blank spots. And there's also a lot of background material, so the book is entertaining as well as being a source of information you might have missed, while watching.
When this book was first published in 1993, the television series, "The Fugitive", was being hailed as a classic television program - which the program is still such today.

This book tells the story behind themaking of the series, the struggle to put the series on television, and a myriad of stories about those who made it. Author Ed Robertson did a yeoman's job in telling what happened, and for this, I congratulate him.

I recommend this book with a whole heart.
