Following a shift in EC's direction in 1950, Gaines presided over what became an artistically influential and historically important line of mature-audience comics. He published the satirical magazine Mad for over 40 years. He was posthumously inducted into the comic book industry's Will Eisner Comic Book Hall of Fame (1993) and the Jack Kirby Hall of Fame (1997)

The Tokens were an American male doo-wop-style vocal group and record production company group from Brooklyn, New York. They are known best for their chart-topping 1961 single, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". The group was formed in 1955 at Brooklyn's Abraham Lincoln High School, and was known first as The Linc-Tones.

The booklets were produced each year until 1966, after which the Christmas Guinness Book of Records continued the tradition. Every publication from 1933 to 1966 was a high-quality booklet with rhymes, text and cartoons created by some of the top illustrators and writers of the time. All of the booklets were produced by the advertising agency SH Benson, who also produced many of the iconic Guinness advertisements of the period.

Its architecture is unique among all Guinness museums: the main hall is a giant Guinness book, the public toilet is a football, the snack-bar is giant hamburger, the gift shop is a giant Rubic’s cube (a popular puzzle game).
