A Primer on Sustainable Building. by Dianna Lopez Barnett (Author), William D. Browning (Author). This book is a very good overview of green building. Do not expect a manual on how to achieve green buildings, but it only claims to be a "primer".

A Primer on Sustainable Building book. Barnett and Browning's "Primer" was arranged with the assistance of several architects, builders and engineers, all listed and thanked in the foreword and generous citation section at the end. With barely one hundred pages of body, there are over thirty pages of glossary, appendices, definitions and recommended reading. This is a strong book but all that extra information comes off as filler, almost as if the writers were struggling to justify their page count. by Dianna Lopez Barnett and William D. It does a very good job of consolidating most of the "green built" topics in an easy to read format. I am now realizing that I should have read this at the start of my interest in the green built environment!
