Gilgamesh, the ancient epic is unfortunately very incomplete and the versions translated are an amalgamation of several ancient epics recovered from Ashaburnipal's library. Too bad they had been recorded on clay tablets, pieces together with the results being many different interpretations since discovered by archeological digs and attempts to piece together a single epic for posterity.
