Spokane Falls is the name of a waterfall and dam on the Spokane River, located in the central business district in downtown Spokane, Washington. The city of Spokane was also initially named "Spokane Falls". The Native American name for the Spokane Falls was "Stluputqu", meaning "swift water". The falls was once the site of a large Spokane people village. The falls consists of an Upper Falls and a Lower Falls.

This book is a combination of text and photos with some sketches. The history of the school is interwoven into the history of the US, especially from the founding of the colonies until the years following the Civil War.
This book is a combination of text and photos with some sketches. The College of William and Mary has perhaps the most interesting history of any college in the US. The book starts with the royal charter of 1693 and continues almost to the present day. It is a great addition to the collection of friends of the college. If one has not been to Williamsburg, the campus of William and Mary is perhaps overall the most beautiful in the country. It does not have the vast buildings of Harvard or Princeton, but it is in a smaller sense more lovely.

The slaughter of the horses was an application of shock and awe, and it worked, said local historian William Stimson, author of A View of the Falls: An Illustrated History of Spokane. Historians who argue that it was the cruelest and most needless of actions said that the horse slaughter was unnecessary because the end of the Indian wars was clearly in sight. By the end of September 1858, Wright declared the Indian wars over. Horse slaughter was an ugly business.
