Christina Brown is the author of several internationally acclaimed yoga books. She teaches yoga at her own centre, Life Source, in Sydney, Australia. This book has about 127 pages, and it is blocked out by individual exercises that are grouped into the following themes: Anytime, Anywhere, stress busters, mood enhancers, energy boosters, and practicing together. That last one is for things to be done with a partner, and that's a section I don't use at this time because my hubby's current work schedule is a bear and when he's around, usually yoga isn't at the tops of our list to do together. Today I hit up the stress busters and mood enhancers.

I am going to go ahead and review this because it's still available used on Amazon. This is one of three Christina Brown books I own, and this is one that I turn to when I'm in a pinch for time, or I need a quick bit of yoga spread throughout my day to help with stress. Because I am the mom of an amazing little boy with special needs who only takes naps sometimes if he's sick, and if he's going through one of his growth spurts, and his fever's gone today, and he's so not in the napping mood, this is the book I pulled out when I needed some faster moments of "calm yourself down TLC, you're holding in the tension because there's a good chance tomorrow's seriously going to stink but you gotta do what you gotta do."

Today I hit up the stress busters and mood enhancers. I have previously done exercises from the other sections as well. Anytime and Anywhere have the most exercises, but all exercises are given to target a specific goal you might have and can be done quickly.

That is the strength of this book in my opinion, that they are exercises that can give you a quick "ahh" or whatever you need that can be worked in whenever with a short amount of time. I think in general the explanations are good, but there are a couple of exercises I would have liked more individual pictures on because I was having a bit more trouble visualizing what she meant, so I just kind of did my own form of interpretive yoga if you will on those. And that's the reason for the nocked off star, I feel that this would have been a stronger book with a few more pictures on those exercises. And for you, that may not pose any sort of issue. Otherwise, I think most of the explanations are definitely easy enough to follow, and I think I'm just going to be living in my yoga pants for the rest of the day. Because this is just a day for that kind of nurturing.

Quick and easy is only part of the greatness of this little book. It has very clear instructions and pictures. You can open to any page and start feeling better right away. There is no need to feel guilty about not having enough time or the right environment to practice yoga.

I like this book and use it quite a bit, everywhere, at home and at work. A lot of value in such a little, portable book.
