Julia Child was born in Pasadena, California. She was graduated from Smith College and worked for the OSS during World War II in Ceylon and China, where she met Paul Child. After they married they lived in Paris, where she studied at the Cordon Bleu and taught cooking with Simone Beck and Louisette Bertholle, with whom she wrote the first volume of Mastering the Art of French Cooking (1961).
Julia Carolyn Child (née McWilliams; August 15, 1912 – August 13, 2004) was an American chef, author and television personality. She is recognized for bringing French cuisine to the American public with her debut cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, and her subsequent television programs, the most notable of which was The French Chef, which premiered in 1963.

Julia Child and Company. The Holy Bible King James Version Gustave Dore Illustrated Leather Bound. This book is amazing! It has so much detail about the process of the receipe, it would be hard to make a mistake. Of course this is a great book; Julia Child wrote it. I think older people can truly appreciate this book most. If you were a Julia fan & can find a copy in excellent condition then treat yourself.
