Under the care of the famed Tarina, the twins will hone their fighting skills and be introduced to the subtle secrets of the Solitaries. From Vio, they will discover the very nature of time and space. It is a hard lesson to master, but the twins are excellent students and Avigail will lead the way. After her lengthy visit to the Far Lands, the legendary Galen Dawkins appears to Avigail in her dreams, pleading for her to find his world and protect him. Avigail quickly becomes obsessed with Galen, his world, and the danger that stalks him. She will stop at nothing to find him, to go to him and to save him. With Arnot’s help, Avigail believes she can bridge the gap between worlds and finally come face to face with the man that haunts her dreams. But when the twins surprisingly succeed in connecting the lands of the Inland Sea with Old Earth, events quickly explode out of their control. Avigail is torn away from her brother and thrown into the confusing and dangerous modern world, where her life is in constant peril. It is up to Arnot to summon the courage and use all of his power to find Galen’s strange world and reunite with his sister.

I have read everything published by Richard Parker, to date. Mr Parker does an admirable job at world building, a passable job with dialogue, and a good job at character development. There are some errors in word choice, some word omissions and some sentence structure gaffes that need polishing in the e-book Kindle version at least. I hope to read much more from this author. I would very much like for him to get a better editor and publisher for his future work.

The sex scenes are not overly explicit, though the repeated reference to rape, masturbation, and wanton slatturns, makes this series somewhat problematic to classify. In every other aspect, the "Temple Islands Series" and "The Temporal Knights" are written for a young adult audience. The grammar is simple, easily read and understood by the average eighth grader. The action sequences are well thought out, the descriptions are nominal, which makes for the quick read that Y/A reader's often prefer. The use of current pop references, limits the shelf life for future generations. All things that a skilled editor and literary agent could remedy.

Were it not for the sex scenes, I would definitely recommend this author to any reader above the sixth grade. As it stands I can only recommend him to those who enjoy light fanciful stories with a modicum of smut. Those who truly enjoy the"Gor" series, and other titillating fantasies will find that while the storyline is good the sex is lame, yet those who want rich, detailed, engrossing fantasies, will find the language simplistic. I would love to see Mr Parker choose an audience and commit, by either upping the quality of his prose, becoming much more explicit and graphic where sex is concerned, or gloss over the sex and write for the Y/A reader, and those who just like light, fun fantasies. So far these books are neither hot, nor cold. I would not purchase any of them for more than $5.00, and believe the $3.00
price point to be optimal.

All in all, very memorable fun stories, but definitely not destined to be classics.

The last book of a series is often a mixed emotional bag. On the one hand, you're looking forward to getting all the treads tied together, the plots settled and the characters ready to go on with their "lives." On the other hand, if you like and connect to the characters, you know this will be the last time you get to hear about them. Balancing those things while moving the story along, keeping it fresh and exciting, and keeping you on your toes is the mark of a really good writer. Rick Parker manages to do all that in this, the last of his Temple Islands Series. He brings the action into our world and keeps things fun sometimes, gut-wrenching at others, but always worth reading. I wish he'd reconsider and add more stories.

Loved these books,from the first page of the first book I was hooked. Hope these are not the end of this story line. Please write more about these amazing people. I rate this series on a par with The Eye Of The World books.

Great series!

I tried to make this fourth and last book last as long as I could. Every twist and turn as surprising as in the previous books. I am looking forward to future work from this author with great anticipation. I give it six stars out of five.
