I found this book (series) back in the early 80's. As the previous reviewer mentions, this book is an unknown gem! It holds up well with other more well known fantasy series.

Although not as complex in structure as the Lord of the Rings or the Shannara series by Terry Brooks, it holds it's own on how original the story line is by not copying the format of the above mentioned books.

This is an excellent book, and I would heartly recomend it to anyone even if they are not into fantasy novels.

Ironbrand was as good as I remember, finished it in one sitting. The series of four books is well organized in bringing the reader to satisfaction.
