This is what I remember thinking was originally behind the weird subplot in the novel, "Enterprise: The First Adventure", when it first came out for the 20th anniversary of TOS, where Vonda McIntyre has Rand (and her brother) being on a vessel that had suffered a time slip and therefore they did not match their chronological ages/physical appearances. It's a shame this book, the first 'giant' Star Trek novel about a big event in Star Trek history came out so substandard.
Vonda N. McIntyre was born in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of H. Neel and Vonda B. Keith McIntyre. She also wrote a number of Star Trek and Star Wars novels, including Enterprise: The First Adventure and The Entropy Effect
Vonda N. She spent her early childhood on the east coast of the United States and in The Hague, Netherlands, before her family settled in Seattle in the early 1960s. She earned a BS with honors in biology from the University of Washington in 1970. That same year, she attended the Clarion Writers Workshop. She also wrote a number of Star Trek and Star Wars novels, including Enterprise: The First Adventure and The Entropy Effect.
