Another great read by Feehan. Spoiler alert for those who don't want to know what the books about.

This one starts with Gavriil Prekenski. Gavriil is in a world of pain and has been since he was stabbed seven times while defending his client. Its pain Gavriil has learned to live with.

Prekenski is currently in Sea Haven. He's there to warn his brothers especially Ilya, the youngest. Those in power want all of them dead. Four of his brothers are married and living in Sea Haven. The women they are married to have power. Power that makes the farm where they live an impossible place to get into.

The moment Gavriil stepped onto the property, the large farm with his brothers and the six women living on it, he'd felt the ripples of power and knew the farm was protected, not only by his brothers, who were dangerous, but by the elements. Earth, Air, Water, Fire. He even felt spirit.

Of course all the Prekenski men have power as well. Ilya, the youngest, is the most powerful and Gavriil is here to warn him that he's now on the kill on site order along with the rest of the brothers. There are seven brothers and they are all on that list.

Gavriil is currently watching a young woman moving through the corn in his direction. She moves with grace, and a fluid easy manner, occasionally stopping to pull one of the ears down to inspect it. He couldn't take his eyes from her or the way the plants leaned toward her, as if She were the sun. She had long auburn hair very long and thick that fell past her waist.

Prekenski knew her. He had always know her. He'd know she was somewhere in the world waiting, and the itch in his palm and the pain paralyzing his mind told him this woman belonged to him and only him. How completely unexpected and unacceptable was that.

Lexi Thompson is that young woman and she's now going to check on the acreage that they had purchased to add to the farm. The farm is producing far more than Lexi imagined it would and she needs help to manage everything. The rest of the girls all have their own business's to run and Lexi feels she can't ask them to give up their business's to assist with the farm. But she needs help. She works from sunup till sundown and sometimes longer to make the farm a paying enterprise which it now is. They are comfortably in the black and that's how Lexi wants it to stay that way.

Lexi comes from a less than stellar existance.

Lexi was taken from her home at age eight by a psycho named Duncan Cain. Cain is a religious fanatic with cult followers in many compounds.

Caine made her his wife at age eight and forced sex on a child. An eight year old child who was no where near ready to have sex with an adult male.

Cain treated her like a slave and eventually she escaped but he killed her entire family in retribution.

Lexi went into to witness protection and Cain's compounds were raided though Cain and some of his most trusted men did escape. Now he's back.

Of course he has no idea that Lexi now has a powerful protector. Gavriil Prekenski is a killer. A killer with powers that Cain has no idea exist.

So begins another fine read by Feehan.

This one has Gavriil, Lexi, a Lexi whose element is Earth, Ariana, an Ariana who's element is Air, Max, Illya, Levi, Thomas, Blythe, a Blythe who wasn't bound to an element but had incredible gifts of her own, Lissa, Rikki, a Rikki who's element is water, Judith, a Judith who is bound to Spirit and married to Stephan, a Lexi with loads of baggage from her time as Cain's slave, a Gavriil who binds Lexi to him in the Prekenski way, a Gavriil who takes things slow with Lexi and shows her love and sex can be something far from pain and slavery, another attack by Cain's minions, those seeking to kill the Prekenski brothers, Jonas Harrington, and Gavriil who will do his best to convince Lexi to be with him, protect his brothers and stay alive.

Five Stars.

I loved the Drake sister series and was hoping for the same with this series. Unfortunately I think Christine Feehan has fallen into a "rut" where she keeps repeating the same basic story with different characters. Her character development has fallen off and it almost seems that she is writing in such a rush --- perhaps she is trying to keep too many different character series going at one time. Earth Bound is an action based story with romance, mystery and magic. The story is about Lexi, the youngest of the Sisters of the Heart, and her romance with Gavrill. Of course, there are bad guys and of course the good guys win. If you've been abused or someone close to you has, this story may stir up unwanted memories.

I wish Feehan would get back to more original plots, less blatant sex (no an organism does not equal long-lasting love) and work more on character development as she used to do.

Book Review- Earth Bound by Christine Feehan

In this newest Sea Haven novel, Lexi is excited to add land to the farm. When she steps across the property line to gaze at it her past comes back with a vengeance. The man she has been hiding from has found her and is ready to kill her. Gavriil Prakenskii comes to her rescue. He has been watching her realizing that she is his. His plans and his life have changed in an instant as a result. He now has someone of his own.
When Lexi’s past comes knocking all her secrets are revealed. Graviil is determined to keep her safe. He wants to eliminate any threat aimed at her. He and his brothers will protect Lexi and her sisters with their lives if it comes to that. Lexi is unsure she can allow them to do that. She would rather leave the farm to keep everyone safe. Her guilt is overwhelming as is her fear. Gavriil is determined to keep her. Let the battle of wills begin.
I love this author and all her Sea Haven novels so far. I’ve read them all. These women have a violent past and have found each other. They’ve formed a family and support system. They each have special gifts tied to an element. Lexi is bound to the Earth and the farm is flourishing as a result. She also does well in her safe haven. She rarely leaves the farm. In former books you really don’t know much about Lexi except she runs the farm. This book reveals her story and digs into the fears she deals with on a daily basis.
Then you meet Gavriil, another Prakenskii brother. He is a silent killer trained as a child just like his younger brothers. His character is solitary and uncomfortable around people. He goes against everything he thinks he is for Lexi. It is a sweet love story unfolding among violence that tries to invade both lives. A great addition to the series. I give it a 4 out of 5.

I love Christine Feehan's books. In fact t, I have never read one of her books that I have not liked. Her plots are woven gems, with her character development superb. The brothers who are the male lead characters in this mini series are from Russia where they had been torn from their families and raised from early childhood to be assassins of the worst kind.
The six female characters have all been drawn together by tragedy and loss. Each of them have special gifts that give them strengths that allow them to survive.
This story centers on Gavill and Lexi, two last souls who help each other heal each other while fighting the enemies from within and without. This is only the second in the series that I have read but I can hardly wait until I can read the others. If you have ever read Ms. Feehan's, I know you will love this book.
