Spiritwalk is related to another book of mine, Moonheart. A familiarity with the events in that previous novel is recommended, though not, I hope, altogether necessary.

Ships from and sold by belskiy. I love when he revisits a place and characters he's created (I usually fall in love with both), so I was thrilled to go back with him to Tamson House. I was a little disappointed in the storyline, however, as it seems very much like a rehash of Moonheart in some places, and I'd like to have seen us go on a brand new adventure instead.

Charles de Lint is the modern master of urban fantasy. Folktale, myth, fairy tale, dreams, urban legend-all of it adds up to pure magic in de Lint's vivid, original world. No one does it better. Recorded Books and Blackstone Audio have released audiobooks for such Charle de Lint titles as The Wind in His Heart, The Mystery of Grace, The Onion Girl, Moonheart, Memory and Dream and Dreams Underfoot. Charles de Lint writes like a magician. He draws out the strange inside our own world, weaving stories that feel more real than we are when we read them. He is, simply put, the best. Charles de Lint is an impossibly, ridiculously talented sort of man-and I’ve.

Charles de Lint (born December 22, 1951) is a Canadian writer of Dutch origins. He is married to-and plays music with-MaryAnn Harris. I had long been interested in returning to Tamson House, so this was just what the doctor ordered. I find the elements from mythology and folklore beautifully woven into a modern, urban setting. DeLint's lyrical writing calls to mind bardic songs of heroes. I had some reservations about the weak-willed character of Emma, but her character stayed true throughout. The book also seemed to have a bumpy start--did DeLint know where he wanted to go? He did. DeLint 's charisma carries through, as Jaime's did after death. I was really reluctant to leave the world of the book to return to mundane matters, but once I took it up again the thread reeled out through the first forest, trips to post-life locations and the house itself. Underlying all are drumbeats and motorcycle revs, which I could swear I felt. Read it; it will not disappoint!

I am a huge Charles de Lint fan, so take that into account when reading this review. But, this IS Charles de Lint and his work is brilliant, so even if I was a little disappointed, it was still an amazing story and a fantastic read.

This is one of my favorite Charles De Lint novels, and completes the story started in "Moonheart". He blends fantasy and reality with a deft hand, and my favorite passages involve the reactions of real people when they are confronted with another world. Plus I wound up with a real fondness for Tamson House where all the action takes place.

De Lint always mixes his fantasy world with a heavy dose of human reality. His characters are flawed and confused as a breathing person. I know this is fantasy but of all the fantasy worlds by all of the fantasy writers, I want this one to be real the most.

Amazing story.... This was the first book of Charles De Lint that I read.... and I was completely hooked. De LInt is one of my all time favorites. His characters become real people to you before you have gotten very far into the story. The way he weaves a storyline, you can't help but be completely drawn into the tale. Great Book.

A worthy read and a semi-sequel to Moonheart. More of a series of linked short stories, though. It was good to explore Tamson House again.

If you love Charles de Lint novels like I do, Spiritwalk won't let you down. If you are new to de Lint's work get ready to enter into a world with vivid characters whose normal lives are made extraordinary in ways you wouldn't expect. De lint is the modern day fantasy genius!
Charles de Lint is one of my favorite authors and I love his tales of urban fantasy. This is one of the great ones. And this one to your permanent library.
