Every once and again, when I am giving a keynote address for a company, I joke about writing. I tease that the toughest part about producing the original hardcover version of Over-achievement was posing for so many hours, modeling for the cover.

Enjoyable way to read a book, like the illustrations, fun read, with good, insightful, thought provoking suggestions. Would recommend to anyone.
Braendo
Brilliant. Simple. Underestimated. The comic book elements help make for a fast and fun read. The science is well founded, the techniques either astound or assist one in recognizing why one has created certain patterns in one's life.Insightful.

I am a big fan of the non-fiction, graphic novel format. This title has the right format but is lacking in content. The author likes to re-invent terms just to sound fresh. He instructs us not to have 'goals' but to set 'targets' for ourselves. When he describes what 'targets' are, they are very similar to goals. He tells us not to use relaxation techniques to deal with stress, but to learn how to use stress to focus ourselves. Good advice in some situations, but the wrong direction in others. He tells us to learn to focus and concentrate, but offers no suggestions on how to improve those skills. His basic premise is the age old idea of being present in the moment - certainly good advice, but nothing new. The focus of the book is on how to think when performing, but minimizes the huge amount of time training/preparing before the performance. The final chapter on 'success philosophies' does add some substance to the work. If you have never read a self-help book, this might be the place to start, but it will not take you very far. It is an enjoyable read, like potato chips are enjoyable to eat. (The illustrations are professional, but the robot theme is a bit bizarre).
