This review is a comment on the lack of editing, as opposed to content, of the kindle edition of this book, which apparently was simply fed through an optical scanner and put to market. For example, "film" becomes "him" (location 672), etc. So sloppy. For eleven bucks, readers have the right to expect better.

Seems a little agenda driven, but still, fascinating reading on one of this world's great men - Walt Disney.

Arrived on time. Item as described and shown.

I read this book as part of my post grad research on the design of the international Disneylands and was surprised by how much I enjoyed reading about Walt. I understand that there is the 'myth' of Walt that has been cultivated over decades and that this 'myth' is supposed to add to the magic of all things Disney. In Eliot's book, the myth is removed and Disney's path to success is revealed. So what if he made some strange choices along the way - don't we all? So what if he faced failure, bankruptcy, dodgy deals and disaster along the way? Isn't that part of the entrepreneurship process? Doesn't that make his achievements all the more important?
Walt became far more interesting and far more inspiring after reading this book.

This is an interesting book, and I am still not quite sure what I think of it. It needed more work in editing and proof reading. Some of the time lines don't follow. Mr. Disney was certainly a complex man. Though I certainly don't believe the "Disneyfied" story the studio puts out about his life, I don't quite believe this one either. This is more along the lines of those slamming books like "My Mother's Keeper" and "Mommy Dearest". Still an interesting read, but not the bible truth, either.

Nice with large print. Great shape!
Great read. My only complaint is the high number of misspelled words. Looks like it was transferred to Kindle format by robot.
