Unrest among the nations, more intense than at any previous time in earth's history, is due largely to the stirring up of the ambitions and passions of men, while the spread of an almost wholly secularized education is quietly doing away with the scriptural standards which formally exerted a restraining influence among the so called Christian peoples. By John A. MacMillan. Most people associate teaching on the authority of the believer from a charismatic source, usually Kenneth Hagin or Kenneth Copeland. Some evangelicals, such as Hank Hanegraaff and John MacArthur tend to regard exercise of the believer’s authority, especially binding and loosing, as an excessive teaching of the charismatic movement.

The author uses words that are not ordinary vocabulary so you need a good dictionary and the Word.

John MacMillan’s practice of the authority of the believer began when as a businessman, he was informed that the house next to his house caught on fire. Calmly, "he committed the crisis to God in prayer, claiming divine protection according to Psalm 91:10 that ‘no destruction would befall the house. " He drove home to find out that the fire had miraculously stopped at a wooden fence that separated the two houses.

Drawing on the ocncept of authority from Ephesians, MacMillan shows how spiritual authority can be used to confront demonic intruders and to facilitate the extension of God's kingdom.

If you have been listening to Billie Brim with Gloria Copeland lately, you know she keeps referring to this book. She said Kenneth Hagin bought it and carried it with him at all times. This book really teaches us the authority we have as Christians in the world we live in. Some of these old timers knew and used that authority and we can all learn from them. Sad to say that many churches today have become too worldly or into psychology instead of the Bible.
There is a lot of things we think we have to put up with in life when we can be taking authority over them instead.
Excellent teaching.

The Believer's Authority - Legacy Edition

While you are doing your study on believers authority, you may as well pick up a copy of Andrew Wommack's, The Believers Authority: What you didn't learn in Church too!

Believer's Authority: What You Didn't Learn in Church

All excellent books to have in your library!

POWERFUL BOOK! This book will absolutely prove to you, through the scriptures, your authority over all circumstances in this world through use of the Name of Jesus. Of course, you must be a Christian--that is, know Jesus as your Savior and know who you are "in Christ." You are "seated in heavenly places with Christ" when you are a Christian. Hard to comprehend with our minds, but, nonetheless, spiritually so. As one trusts in Christ, one trusts the Word of God as truth. Further, this author has obviously thoroughly studied the Word (the Bible) and shows you how problems and issues of life can be immediately resolved through your simply KNOWING your authority in Christ, and through using--out loud--the Name of Jesus against the bad situation. I learned that it works even for a brand new Christian who may or may not be 'filled with the Holy Spirit' yet. The power and authority of the Name of Jesus is supreme in this world if you only understand and accept its power--not of yourself, but through use of the Name of Jesus.

I've read and listened to some good teaching on this subject, but few people have reached a point where they cannot learn more about it, and I certainly have not reached that point.
I did already understand the basic principles of why we have authority over our spiritual enemy, Satan (from other teachers in the Body of Christ), but I learned more about how to use that authority from this book, and--just as important--was motivated to act on that knowledge to a greater degree. I needed that spur to more action. Yet the author keeps our focus on the Lord Jesus Christ, not on "spiritual warfare," and I know how important it is to keep our focus on Him, our beloved Savior, and depend on Him to direct us as to when and how we should engage in spiritual battle rather than leading ourselves into the battles. We need to spend most of our time getting closer to Him, learning more about Him, and just enjoying our love relationship with Him and then sharing that love with others and ministering to them as He directs.

The true-life examples were very helpful, as indeed true-life examples always are.

Very very good book, I highly recommend it to encourage those who question their value to God and what they are capable of achieving if they will incorporate what he says into their lives.

John A. MacMillan is an excellent teacher on the Bible. I've enjoyed Kenneth E. Hagin's teachings on the authority that we have as Christians. This is a book written before him and was out of print. He'd searched for it, and ended up being able to be involved in it's being reprinted. This book is one that every Christian needs to gain a deeper understanding of his true authority in his stand against satan.

Great book for those who want to know there authority that they have In Christ. Need to meditate this book for a while until the words settle

in your spirit. Ask, the Holy Spirit for some interpretation and he will give it to you. Don't read in a hurry or you will miss some important
information.
Every believer needs to read and understand this remarkable process of triumph by our Father through Jesus his son. If this is not understood and just read there will be no victory for the believer. Kenneth Hagin wrote a similar book after reading this one but I feel both are necessary for full and complete understanding of our authority and position in the heavenlies.
