The Epistle of Jude, often shortened to Jude, is the penultimate book of the New Testament and is traditionally attributed to Jude, the servant of Jesus and the brother of James the Just. The letter of Jude was one of the disputed books of the biblical canon. It is one of the shortest books in the Bible: only 1 chapter of 25 verses long.

The Second Epistle of Clement often referred to as 2 Clement (pronounced "Second Clement"), is an early Christian writing. It is considered canon by the Coptic Orthodox Church. 2 Clement was traditionally believed to have been an epistle to the Christian Church in Corinth written by Clement of Rome sometime in the late 1st century. However, 4th-century bishop Eusebius, in his historical work, says that there was one recognized epistle of Clement (namely the so-called First Epistle of Clement)

Titus Flavius Clemens, also known as Clement of Alexandria (Greek: Κλήμης ὁ Ἀλεξανδρεύς; c. 150 – c. 215), was a Christian theologian and philosopher who taught at the Catechetical School of Alexandria.

Ante Nicene Fathers The 1st Epistle of Clement to the Corinthians - Clement of Alexandria. The fifth book returns to the subject of faith. He stresses that knowledge of God can only be achieved through faith once one's moral faults have been corrected. This parallels Clement's earlier insistence that martyrdom can only be achieved by those who practice.

This work provides, in English translation, what survives of commentary upon the Epistle of Jude from the first millennium of the Christian church. Five texts feature: the relevant portion of Clement of Alexandria's "Hypotyposes" and the commentaries of Didymus (the Blind) of Alexandria, Pseudo-Oecumenius and the Venerable Bede. With these is included the "scholia", extracts from other no longer extant works, published by Dean Cramer in his catena of the Greek Fathers on Jude. Each translated text is provided with notes. The book is prefaced with two chapters which place these commentators in their historical context and compare their handling of the material.
