Very emotional biography of Casals. A minister recommended this book to me and then my book club read it. What is wonderful, is that you can find him on YouTube playing music he has written about,especially the "Song of the Birds". Wonderful person and musician. I also have his Bach Cello Suites which were recorded in 1936 and remastered digitally in 2003. ,

Pau Casals was the greatest. Franco caused the flight and/or early death of many Spanish intellectuals-- Machado, Picasso, Miguel Hernandez, Lorca. Casals always loved his homeland and this book brought this out.
