The Department of Prints and Drawings is responsible for over one third of the National Gallery of Victoria’s collection, and is known for its outstanding holdings of works on paper from the 1400s to the present day. The European collection charts the history of Western graphic art from the late Middle Ages to the present and includes major holdings of work by Albrecht Dürer, Rembrandt, Goya and William Blake among other artists.
