The work of a remarkable Bahamian painter … learned of his work through a friend who lives in his locale … delighted to find this book. The work is narrative … graphic … colorful … reproductions are very good.

While in the Bahamas, we bought a copy of Under the Sunday Tree, with paintings by a Bahamian primitive named Mr. Amos Ferguson and accompanying poems by Eloise Greenfield. We bought it to give to a young friend, but it may be too good to give away. Fortunately, it's available here at Amazon.... The poems really make the book, and the text is simple enough that it's accessible to young readers.
